Has anybody had any luck extracting the videos from a Samsung SGH-J706 (GSM)?
I've treid
Cellebrite UFED
MOBILedit Forensic
Oxygen Forensic 2010
Device Seizure
Datapilot v6.1.2
Samsung PC Studio 3

They all cause the phone to error with the videos larger than 14 KB. None of the files are locked. The phone is in PC Studio mode.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Scott

UFED Physcial supports SGH-J700 and SGH-J708, it is very possible that it will work with the SGH-J706 too.

This will possibly even get you deleted video files.

Not sure of the handset specifically but you could try dumping the phone using a tool like N-Box and then carve the files from the output of the NAND (TFS) chip.

I am not familiar with this specific model, but have had success using .XRY and Samsung phones previously. Will try and check if this Samsung model is supported when I get to the lab next week.

I see the the user memory on this model is 18MB, plus external SD card; just wondering if you connected the mobile via a USB write blocker to a machine and tried to obtain an image from it using Encase what would that solve your problem? I have done the same with some other mobiles previously with success.

Just a thought.

As a last resort you could try to send the video files individually over blue tooth to your PC.

I don't have UFED Physical and have never tried N-Box or similar tools. So I will give Encase\FTK a try and lastly the blue tooth option.

Thanks for the suggestions,
