Convert Iphone 4 Consolidated.db file to Google earth
Convert Iphone 4 Consolidated.db file to Google earth
Posted: Thu Jan 06, 2011 12:23 pm
Is there a way to, or a program (for the PC) that can read the Consolidated.db file from the Iphone 4 backup folder and accurately translate the cell locations and timestamps into Google earth?
So far I've used Dcode to convert some of the timestamps, just to have a starting point but it only converts one timestamp at a time.
Then I converted the db file to a CSV file, then converted the CSV to KML and then imported Lat & Long into Google earth but there are multiple locations for the same timestamps, sometimes more than 80 locations and most are miles apart, even crossing into nearby states or in the middle of the ocean.
There are a few programs that will do this for other GPS devices, has anyone heard of one that will work with the Iphone 4?
Thanks in advance for your help.

.....although it doesn't translate the timestamps have you tried using iBackupBot for iTunes.....? It's a fanatastic tool for the money and I think there is a free version. It will structure all of your files in Backup and allow you to export the .db files.

iBackupBot gives you access to the information but the problem is converting the information into a path or area that Google earth or any other map program can understand.
This is bacically what you get: Time/Lat/Long
307150235.038898 40.3551138 -73.97351944
307150235.038898 40.35205978 -73.97275948
307150235.038898 40.35778558 -73.97811537
307150235.038898 40.34804743 -73.97517013
307150235.038898 40.36346822 -73.97411775
307150235.038898 40.36423844 -73.97691071
307150235.038898 40.36409598 -73.98234236
307150235.038898 40.36541533 -73.98074167
307150235.038898 40.36503523 -73.98742842
307150235.038898 40.36726373 -73.98254436
I can import them into any map program with no problem but information is useless if it shows the phone in 80 different locations at the same time...
Let's say the next timestamp is 5 minutes later, there will just be another 80 locations for that timestamp all miles apart.
For one day alone the location and time stamps can number in the hundreds.

XRY v5.3 can do this for you as a standard export feature direct to Google Earth.
www.msab.com/products/...h/page.php
This includes exporting the consolidated database from the iPhone 4.

UFED PA v2.0 added geolocation and many more data types to iPhone decoding.
If you are a UFED user, ask for a beta version that is already available of the UFED PA v2.0
