To support the delivery of billable practice support services to our clients and to provide consulting and technical services to our lawyers to support both their use of the firm’s eDiscovery and online document review platform, Relativity and the firm’s in-house virtual data room platform.
Main duties and responsibilities:
To support the delivery of technical and consultancy services to legal staff and clients in:
• eDiscovery
• Online document review
• Document management
• Electronic trial preparation
• Relevant court rules and practice directions
• Virtual data rooms
• To consult with the Manager, other members of the team, the legal staff and clients to provide processing and review solutions for edisclosure projects
• To work with the team to ensure projects and tasks are allocated and attended to on a case by case basis
• To assist with managing large document review including both the data that is reviewed and the personnel to carry out the review.
• To provide user training and support to clients and legal staff in the use of the Relativity.
• To assist in the creation and maintenance of training materials and vendor instruction templates
• To provide user training and support to clients and legal staff in the use of the firms in house virtual data room platform
• To work with the team to ensure the cutting edge solutions and workflow are provided
Technical
• To provide ongoing technical support and troubleshooting as required
• To provide Relativity training to the legal teams and clients as required
• To work with the IT department on any upgrades/technical requirements for Relativity
• To use the Relativity platform to provide technical solutions for our clients
(both internal and external). Strategic
• In conjunction with the Practice Support & eDiscovery Manager, to support the development and implementation of the firm’s practice support and e-discovery strategy
Key relationships:
• Daily contact with the Practice Support and eDiscovery team to allocate and share responsibilities and tasks.
• Frequent contact with partners and legal staff to assess their individual case requirements and to support and train in their use of the various technology systems
• Frequent contact with clients, counsel, experts and others external to the firm to support and train in their use of the various technology systems
• Frequent contact with IT to assist in the deployment of software and other IT issues
Person specification
Education / qualifications / experience:
• Law graduate (local or overseas qualified)
• A strong technical understanding of litigation support and edisclosure technologies
• 3 – 5 years of project management or case management experience within the legal/e-discovery industry preferably within a legal environment (or litigation support service provider) delivering high quality litigation support services
Knowledge and technical skills:
• Experience with Relativity (highly desirable) and various other litigation support/edisclosure platforms both for processing and review
• MS Office suite of products, in particular Excel and Access
• Excellent communication skills, including verbal, written and proofreading
• Proven analytical and problem solving skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment while maintaining proper priorities and scheduling on extremely tight deadlines
• Flexibility in dealing with simultaneous projects
General skills:
• Intellectually astute, analytical yet pragmatic
• Creative and open to new ideas
• Commercially aware
• Strong communication skills
• Strong organisation and project management skills (both planning and ongoing management/follow- up)
• A self starter, keen to develop the role
• Committed and enthusiastic
• Team player who is keen to work with a small team to deliever high quality services
• Strong interest in the litigation support industry and a desire to stay up to date with the changes and advancements in the industry
• Strong desire to continue to continue to develop technical skills as required by the role
• A quick learner who operates in a relaxed and friendly way
• A real team player who builds relationships effectively
Other requirements:
Flexibility and a willingness to work additional hours on occasion as required.
