An independent organisation who delivers specialised information security on a global scale are seeking a uniquely talented individual for the position of Forensic Consultant.

This UK-based organisation specialises in forensic investigations, information security and data discovery of electronic payments among other things.

The role of Forensic Consultant would give the successful candidate the opportunity to involve themselves in numerous tasks such as digital forensic investigations, heavily assist with incident responses and offer insight and support with the organisation’s internally developed tools.

This position also requires the individual to develop bespoke tools – using programming languages such as Perl and Python – as part of a case analysis.

The ideal candidate for this role will have an exceptionally analytical mind to carry out the given tasks and attain vast system and network experience in a related field.
Alternatively, this position would suit an outstandingly-talented graduate who is seeking an entry-level role in the field of information security. With the required aptitude, this organisation believes it has the ability to mould a gifted graduate into an able Forensic Consultant and give them the opportunity to learn and grow.

• Educated to degree-level in Computer Science or a related field
• A high aptitude of mathematical knowledge is essential and is a required attribute
• Must possess a strong analytical mind with the ability to assess situations
• A knowledge of system and network security is extremely desirable due to the nature of the role
• A keen interest in forensic computing is essential
• The drive to further knowledge of forensic methodology is essential with the ability to be an excellent learner
• Experience and working knowledge of at least 1-2 years in the industry is desirable. However this is not strictly essential given the candidate has the right aptitude, skills and willingness to learn
• Assembly language skills are essential and required for carrying out several of the tasks
• Computer literate
• Good communication skills
• Ability to handle multiple tasks
