Memphis TN eDiscovery summer internship

Post Posted: Tue Jan 17, 2012 1:05 pm

For information only, do not contact me with questions.

FedEx Services has a summer internship in InfoSec in the eDiscovery Systems team. Unfortunately the job description is for IT generally, so you won't see anything about eDisco in the link, but applicants expressing an interest in digital evidence with education and/or experience to back that up are likely to be well considered. The internship is in Memphis Tennessee, so don't apply if you aren't able to independently be resident in Memphis over the summer.

Hi,

I am in my final year MSc student in computer forensic investigation. Just wanted to know if you have any current openings for internship in London.

Regards,
Adithi.

I will risk Shocked stating that it would be more likely that Patrick4n6 might be able to offer an internship in London, Cocke County, Tennessee.

I don't even know how to respond to this other than that we have no plans for interns in my team as far as I am aware.

However if anyone necros a year and half old posting of mine, I'm probably not going to bother responding next time.

So the question is does this go more to the respondent not carefully examining the original post (ie looking at the date of the post or the location of the job) before responding or the desperation of the students that are lead by the nose through the digital forensic programs at the various colleges/universities only to discover after spending all that money that there are precious few internships (and entry level jobs) available which causes them to flail at the wind for anything out there?

Both.

Maybe the person did investigation and saw Fed Ex, hmm Fed Ex = Global, Global = UK, UK = Internship.

However, my money is on another poster who posted without looking.

We all know the market is saturated right now STILL. The people who got their degrees and can't get work, are just now starting to get other jobs out of their fields to make ends meet.

Both.

And not only.
I mean, the guy (of course by mistake/casually Smile ) revived unwantingly the old post BUT he also overlooked the location AND that is not the post of someone looking for an internship as a forensic investigator, it is more likely how one would ask for an internship at (say) McDonald's. Shocked

I mean, IMHO besides all the specific knowledge a digital forensic investigator needs to have, before and outside the UNI training, he must have an inborn attitude for exactness and attention to details, something that the poster showed not.
