Hi,

I just came to know about a mobile forensic company Secureview which, to be very honest, I have never heard before. When I applied for a free trial, they came back to me saying that the trial is only for law enforcement and government agencies and instead directed me to the home version which is on sale at Amazon for 80$.

I am tempted to buy a "mobile forensic" software for 80$ but it sounds too good to be true. Has anyone got any experience with this tool or company?

Most of the stuff is free nowadays. Almost ALL forensic tools you could have them FREE.
For android use andriller.com, etc.
You really dont need any forensic tool except you are a kid that do not know how to look on google.com for the free version. )

I have known Susteen (DataPilot) and the owner, Hiro, for about 10 years. Susteen is a reputable company which has been involved in mobile forensics for many years. I could be wrong, but my understanding of the Investig8 Basic $80 package is that it is a one-time-only use. I have also heard that if you want to then upgrade to the Investig8 Pro package, which is multi-use, the $80 could be applied to the full package price of $699. It may be their way of giving a demo, while eventually encouraging the upgrade.

Thanks for your uncalled advice. However that still does not answer my question.

Mr, Mark, Thanks for your response.

it is a very good forensic tool the reason it is so in expensive is because it is for a 1 time use.
We were one of the first cell phone forensic software's on the market.

The pricing model is unusual. $699 appears to get you unlimited downloads of up to 10 mobile phones, then presumably you have to purchase another license.

Is there no SMS renewal like other software?

Is it possible to get a list of the supported phones along with details of exactly what artifacts can be recovered?

Adam this is not unusual as this is product for people that do not intend to de very many device extractions. If you are looking to do an unlimited # of phones then we have a different product that has SMS renewals. We offer support for over 10,000 phones world wide.

Ah okay, couldn't see any linkage on that site to the tool you mention. Are you able to post up a link or PM me some information around pricing and if possible documentation of the phones supported along with the artifacts that can be recovered?

I'm particularly interested in support for recovering deleted data/unlocking or bypassing iPhone locks, Android and Windows phone support.

I'm not adverse to purchasing a single use license as a tester but would like more information before I take that step to see (on paper at least) how it compares to my current tool of choice.
