Evidence of network connection on an iphone

Dear All,

I am currently trying to assess if an iphone (4, IOs 6.1) has been connected to a wifi network at a certain point in time. Would you have any idea how to solve this issue ?

One thing I had thought of was looking at the "last joined" time in the com.apple.wifi.plist file. Given that once you have entered the credentials for a given wifi network, you switch to the "last auto joined" category, the "last joined" time would de facto give you the first time a device was connected to the network (assuming there was no "forget this network" reset done in between).

Unfortunately I am quite concerned the results would not be accurate as trying to do the same kind of research as a test on an ipad (1, IOs 5.1.1), the "last joined" time gave me an obviously wrong timestamp (very recent while the ipad has been knowing the given network for years).

Any idea of an alternative method, or why the timestamp in the com.apple.wifi file could be wrong ?

Any help will be much appreciated.

Many thanks,
Frank

Unsecure approach in my eyes. If the user resetted the Network Settings under 'General', 'Reset', 'Reset Network Settings' this should overwrite the .plist as the handover to e.g. 2nd-hand users
has to be cleaned from previous users. Latest by 'Erase All Content and Settings' the device has to be
in default mode. No indicators how many times - if - the Network Settings were resetted.
