Perhaps the Managed Image file functionality in IsoBuster (available for roughly 12 years now already - I just checked) would be a good fit.

It would. I've not really noticed it until you mentioned it, but now I see it probably solves one of the problems I often have with old CD media.

So for me it would be a very good choice for a write-up.

Good to hear @athulin
I should make some time available then to write an article !
For the time being, on the subject of Managed Image files:

www.isobuster.com/help...image_file
www.isobuster.com/help...properties
and the closely related 'Managed Clone' :

I am not so sure about this being the "right" message to send, if I may:
Anybody can be an engineer with IsoBuster.

I don't doubt in the least about Isobuster being a nice, good, tool of course, but from that to make one into a data recovery engineer, there is IMHO a leap.

I'm not entirely sure I understand your comment @Jaclaz but IsoBuster is a very powerful tool. Once you understand all its functionality you'd be surprised what you can 'engineer' with it. I know plenty of data recovery experts who use it for those reasons. The managed image file functionality being one of the reasons.

I'm not claiming anything other than that @Jaclaz ? So I don't understand the comment or the need for it ? But ok, no need to clarify.
