Master of Science in Digital Forensic Management and Digital Forensic Science
The Division of Information Technology and Sciences at Champlain College seeks to appoint an engaged professional to its professorial faculty with a concurrent appointment as Program Director of the Master of Science in Digital Forensic Management and Master of Science in Digital Forensic Science programs. We are interested in candidates who can work within a team-oriented faculty and with strong project-based curricula. Responsibilities include primarily graduate online instruction (some traditional undergraduate level instruction when needed), course development, student advising, industry outreach, and graduate student recruitment in collaboration with our admissions team.
The ideal candidate will have industry experience, a graduate degree in an appropriate discipline and an understanding of adult learning principles. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a strong connection to the industry as well as the ability to provide a vision and future plans for the programs. Program directors are also expected to attend and present at several industry conferences throughout the year. The candidate should be able to teach online graduate courses and face-to-face undergraduate courses for which s/he is qualified within the Division. Rank will be determined based on qualifications of the successful candidate.
The successful candidate should be able to help build intercultural understanding and demonstrate multicultural perspectives that can foster a diverse and inclusive community both inside and outside of the classroom.
Champlain College has been educating digital forensic professionals since 2002 when it was one of the first tertiary institutions to offer an undergraduate degree in the field. Since that time Champlain faculty have been working closely with law enforcement and the private sector to ensure that the programs provided meet the needs of the industry. As a result of this close relationship, the Master of Science in Digital Forensic Management was launched in 2009 and the Master of Science in Digital Forensic Science in 2012. The goal of these programs is to educate the next generation of leaders within the rapidly growing fields of Digital Investigation, Digital Forensics, Cyber Crime, eDiscovery and Computer Forensics.
Champlain College has a long history of professional education and believes in educating for the real world. To achieve that end, when recruiting instructors, a strong emphasis is placed on their professional experience. Our current faculty has a range of experience from both the law enforcement and private sector.
The MS degree programs in Digital Forensic Management and Digital Forensic Science have been developed for professionals already working in the field of digital forensics. Digital investigators, and others working in electronic or high-tech crime units, will be your students. As pioneers in this field, these students — hailing from points all across the country — will have much to offer in terms of sharing experiences, advice and professional contacts.
