Funded Summer Studentship, Cranfield University, Shrivenham

The Centre for Forensic Computing and Security at Cranfield University, UK, is offering a 12 week funded summer studentship in the area of forensic computing. Candidates should be currently enrolled on a university level course.
This research will start by focusing on the potential forensic artefacts created by general user interaction with the Raspberry Pi device; this will be followed by an opportunity to focus on the artefacts created when the device is used in a non-conventional way.
At the end of this research project it is hoped that three contributions to the digital forensic field will be made: a whitepaper on the forensic artefacts identified for law enforcement investigations, a conference paper based solely upon this research, and the research will also contribute to a journal paper regarding the impact of the Raspberry Pi to digital forensics.
Cranfield Defence Security (CDS) is one of the four schools of Cranfield University and is located in Shrivenham. The studentship is for the summer of 2013, normally during the months of May – August and is approximately of 12 weeks duration. Selection of the interns is based on their performance with their submitted responses to the interview questions and is entirely based on merit.
The internship provides a bursary of £ 240 per week for the duration of the studentship. The actual amount depends upon the first and last working date. It is expected that students will normally spend best part 11 weeks.
