Hi everyone
I'm a recent CF graduate so my skills are limted. I have been given .vox audiofiles to access, when I play them I just hear static noise. Is this because they are encrypted?
If someone could give me some help and advice on how to access the true audio, that would be great.
Cheers
Andrew

You might want to provide some context, the .vox file extension is not "univocal" to a given file format
http//
Check if TRiD can identify the filetype.
What exactly are you using to play them?
Etc., etc.

How do you know that they're audio files?
Hi, Thank you for your replys and help.
I was told when they were handed over to me that they were audio files. I was using a program called "NBX audio converter" to play the files in which they were giving the static noise. Jaclaz, i ran the files through TRiD's online service and it idenified them as coral photo paint "cpt". When i clicked on "cpt" the header had a match for "DTS Compact Audio"
Should i try to convert them into a different format? or am i going in the wrong direction?
thank you for your help
Andrew
"DTS Compact Audio"

According to the above Videolan should be able to decode/play them

You checked the actual file for the header
Header Hexdump 7F FE 80 01 FC 3C 7D C2 77 00 0D 3B 80 09 EF 7B

Hi Jaclaz. I have checked the file headers of each of my files and they match the file header in which you provided. TRiD also displayed the same information.
I have tried to play the files within VLC but nothing happends.
Thank you for your help, if you could think of anything else that would be useful I would be truly greatful.
If not, thank you again
Kind Regards
Andrew

Try dcadec/libdca directly, see

the result of the mediainfo command might give some more hints.
