Hoping you may be able to assist.

Does anyone know of any metadata that details when an email was first read? I am looking at Outlook emails, but would welcome Lotus Notes information if you do have it.

I wondered if a cheat sheet or further information was available. We are trying to determine the first time an email message was opened, understanding when a custodian actually initially read the email message.

I have looked through https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/office/cc815517.aspx but I would welcome some forensic insight.

Many thanks

I would suggest installing Outlook Spy and testing - it has a 'monitor' feature that tracks changes as they happen. This might offer insight in to what field changes when the read happens (if anything).

I don't think there is a change though - the 'read' change is an operation of the Outlook client. Or if a read receipt is requested, the outlook client generates one when it thinks the email has been read. But testing will confirm this - I do not know for sure.
