Cryptography is maybe not your first choice, but worth starting. Just visit iacr.org and search for Post Quantum Crypto to become familiar. At the upcoming RSA Conf 2017 the cryptographer's panel will be Feb 14th with live streaming.

Some conclusions out of the panel are AES will remain secure for the forseeable future. A single PKI will not save 'survive' a few of them bound together will. SHA-3 has still a huge security margin.
