Hey guys, this on Windows XP Home.

Anyway, I was trying to find old internet explorer browsing history on my laptop Guest account, and for some reason the index.dat file (found at Documents and Settings\Local Settings\History\History.IE5index.dat) is completely empty, save for a couple current tests that I tried that did populate the file.

I know it should have information in it since I had used explorer on that account for years. CCleaner was used on another account, but as far as I know that would have no bearing on the Guest account data. Also I'm pretty sure you can't manually delete these files, so I don't think that's it either (Correct me if I'm wrong on that)

So, does anybody have any idea why this is the case? index.dat was supposed collect virtually everything done with IE (I had the version that used index.dat, I checked) and its empty. Are there any reasons why this file would not record anything over the years? Malware perhaps?
