Hi all,

From what I've read on jadsoftware.com about IEF IEF has been updated to support new Facebook chat, Facebook email, and Facebook Email “Snippets” artifact formats
What exactly has changed ?

I guess it now picks up stuff that can be found by searching for the keyword /"snippet/" (or whatever it is) that gives you the first line of private messages etc.

Perhaps soon they'll add support for HoverCard artifacts as well.

I'm getting really annoyed with updating my scripts to keep pace with facebook, I'm now supporting like 4 different generations of artefact types. I dont see how anyone has the patience.

Alf, the latest version of IEF (v4.3.0) has added support for newer versions or changes with the Facebook artifacts containing chat, email, and email "snippets". Some of these artifacts have changed recently. IEF also recovers Facebook user comments now (as well as the status updates / wall posts).

Xennith, IEF has supported the email snippets for some time now, but as you mentioned, Facebook is constantly tweaking or changes things so the tools need to be updated to keep pace. We are looking at adding support for the HoverCard artifacts in the near future.

Kind regards,
Jad

Good man. Wish I could get the latest version but budgets are pretty tight these days - this most recent change makes it look like hovercards are the new in thing as they probably literally spray artefacts onto the disk cache.
