UK Placement Search 2012
UK Placement Search 2012
Posted: Fri Nov 04, 2011 6:07 pm
I am currently in my 2nd year of my BSc Digital Forensics degree at the University of Portsmouth. Me along with several others are currently seeking placement for next year (2012).
We are hoping to get placement in the Digital Forensics field.
If anyone is able to offer any placements or knows of any in the UK it would be good to hear from you.
Thank you for your time and help.

Hi,
I've had a couple of pm's about placements at the Met Police recently and I did write replies. I've just discovered three messages still in my outbox on FF so I don't know if they went.
So just to make sure people know what the state of play is at the main computer lab here....we aren't going to be offering a placement for 2012/2013. This might change for the following year but it's too early to say for sure right now.
I just wanted to make sure those that had messaged me knew the answer if the private messages didn't get to you.

Jamie,
Thanks for clarifying that. I wondered if it was the semi locked down work computer I was using, which was in some way causing an issue.

Have you tried CY4OR? They do student placements every year and often more than one.
I got my placement by writing to a company that wasn't advertising, in the hope they might consider the idea.
Hope this helps

On a slightly different note could I ask potential placees *not* to keep calling/emailing Forensic Control? I get called at all times including evenings and weekends asking for a placement even though our web site clearly says that due to the nature of our work we cannot accept interns/placements.
Thanks.
