After successfully offering several courses online for free this year, Stanford is offering several more courses online next year, some in cooperation with UC Berkeley.

Many are relevant (directly or tangentially) to techies. Here's a link to the Computer Security class, but there are links to the other classes at the bottom of the page. Some do require prior mathematical or programming knowledge.

An update on this: received a follow-up email from the organisers of last year's 'Introduction to AI' class informing me about a new venture providing free education on computer science topics.

At the moment you can sign up for a CS101 course, and a follow-up to the previous AI class, but they intend to run courses on various other core CS topics during the year (e.g. operating systems, networks, distributed systems, algorithms etc).  

may i ask how to apply , any prerequisite and am i too late?  

I signed up for a bunch of these classes and recvd emails from each one saying "we apologize but we are to yet ready to start".

anyone have a class in progress yet?
