Seagate HDD repair cable
Seagate HDD repair cable

Has anyone used a cable like THIS to recover data from a drive?
This is for a family friend and I cannot really use lab resources so thanks for DeepSpar suggestions but I am not going to buy one for personal use. And they cannot afford $500+ for recovery, but would be willing to buy a cable or some relatively inexpensive tool if anyone can suggest one.
Thanks

Hello.
I made one of these cables myself using a specific Nokia cable.
I did not use it for forensic purposes, just to change some of the internal settings of the Hard Drive for testing in the lab.
I'll try and fish out the info you require.

s1lang,
Thanks for the links. I found several similar. When looking for the recommended DKU-5 Cable I found several pre-made cables like the one I linked in my post. I also found several posts that recommended using a CA-42 cable and not the DKU-5. I do not want to brick the drive so that is why I was considering a pre-made cable. There is always a lot of info on the Internet, so I am glad to hear from someone that made it work.
