Guys,

I would like to hear your opinions regarding email CF software for processing emails.

I am looking for something to analyse emails in various formats, something in between Aid4Mail and P2 Commander where it is possible to convert various formats of emails storage(s) onto another, extracting have built in search and indexing option(s)

Is there anything on the market for this kind of job ? (Excl. EnCase 7 - eeeh)

Your opinions are very appreciated!

If you have any more questions, email me on priv.

Cheers

If the case load is typically small, I'd recommend Proof Finder from Nuix. The current version has a limit of 15 GB of expanded data, but it supports a pretty wide variety of mail types and has all of the other features you mentioned.

I would recommend you have a look at Intella for email examination.

Can do just about anything the full NUIX suite can do but at a fraction of the ridiculous price NUIX chage. Not to mention faster and more stable )

I'm not too sure about proof finder, the documentation on the website and what it can do really reminds me of a high school project rather than an actual forensic tool, and there is no mention of exporting or reporting capabilities which worries me. Seems like they are using it as an add on for other software which you need to purchase to get the extra functionality you would need..however I've not used it so I might be a bit unfair in that assessment.

Mind you at $100 worth a look even if it's not exactly what you need I guess )

I am going to comment more when will test it.

The trial of Nuix Work Station that is very similar to Proof Finder is on its way so we will see.

Intella, hmm another idea - definitely will find out more.

Thx

I've worked pretty extensively with NUIX and Intella over a number of years so if you like NUIX once you've done the test but get scared at the price then moving to Intella won't be hard.

The interface is very similar and the way it operates too.

Have fun, I love playing with new tools D

(Proof Finder is apparently a single-client version of NUIX)
(Nothing else to add)

I second Nuix Proof Finder. In my opinion, it is one of the best solutions for anything mail, under 15GB.

I'm also going to endorse NUIX's ProofFinder utility as hands-down one of the best "for the money" tools available. I use it primarily for email conversions but it's also great for searching/investigating data sets. It could easily be sold for more and still be worth the money compared to other tools in the category.

Hi all,

As promised, after the trial of Nuix Work Station must say that the email part of is great. Especially graphical charts of all email correspondence

I would recommend Nuix Prrof Finder to everyone interested in email analysis to try it, great tool that is..

Another vote for NUIX Proof Finder - I've purchased the "charity version" and found it very useful and effective.
