HAMILTON COUNTY
SEARCH AND SEIZURE WARRANT
TO DETECTIVE JOHN DOE, HAMILTON COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE, OR ANY MEMBER OF THE HAMILTON COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE, OR ANY QUALIFIED AGENT OF THE TENNESSEE BUREAU OF INVESTIGATION OR ANY QUALIFIED FORENSIC COMPUTER EXAMINER ACTING UNDER THE DIRECTION OF A QUALIFIED LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER:
Proof having been made before me under oath by Detective John Doe that there is probable cause to believe that evidence of a crime in violation of Tennessee Code Annotated § 39-17-1003 et seq. exists on certain computer hardware, on certain electronic equipment, specifically, a Gateway brand computer tower, serial number 0000000, and a Dell brand computer tower, serial number 111111, which is securely being held in the Property Room of the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office, you are hereby COMMANDED to execute a search for but not limited to the following pieces of evidence:
Photographs, images, depictions, notes, ledgers, journals, diaries, software, documentation, security devices, or any other material involved in unlawful activities detailed above including evidence showing possession and/or the distribution of materials in violation of Tennessee Code Annotated § 39-17-1003 & 39-17-1004 et seq.
You are to execute this Warrant within five (5) days and to make return of any items found to my office in the Hamilton County Courthouse, 600 Market Street, Chattanooga, Hamilton County, Tennessee. You may search the hardware listed above and copy or store the electronic data contained therein and report said acquisition by return, saving the acquired data for a more detailed search outside of the five day limit set by Tennessee law. You may employ qualified law enforcement officers and/or properly trained forensic computer examiners to execute this warrant at your direction.
