OK, firstly thanks for taking the time out to read my post. I feel that this is a great resource for the community and I was wondering how if any one could provide some insight for me into what kind of areas I could my dissertation on. I am a third year Computer Forensics Student on my placement year and looking to start thinking about what I can do for my dissertation.

The dissertation is based around the research, design and evaluation of a software programme related to the discipline. I had originally thought about designing a client and casework management system which I wanted to base around an SQL and web based system, however, my lecturer has said it should really be based around a java system. This has left me slightly worried as although I am relatively ok with java I don't think it would work very well in this senario.

Anyways, any ideas or thoughts would be great and I am already talking to my supervisor about ideas but any extra would be ace

Thanks
