The Internet's reach means that more often than not, an investigator's case will cross outside the bounds of his or her jurisdiction, and involve many layers, from information compromise to abuse of information. “Investigators need to know how and where to share information, and to package their cases in ways that are easy for prosecutors to work with,” said Loving.
