Course description

The program consists of four courses in Electronic Evidence and Forensic Computing. A total of 18 units of study must be completed.


Admissions and entry requirements

DOMESTIC STUDENTS ONLY

Applications to this program are online via SATAC's Gradstart portal.

This program is not available to international students studying onshore under a student visa.

Applicants are required to have a completed degree in science, engineering, technology, or a completed Bachelors degree in any discipline or equivalent qualification and 3 years work experience as a Forensic Computing, Information Assurance or Electronic Evidence professional; or a minimum of six years relevant professional experience in information assurance, forensic computing work experience in Law Enforcement, Defence or the commercial sector is required.

Fees for International students: $AU 11,750 per 0.5 EFTSL for students commencing in 2011.
Fees are calculated on a per Unit basis with 1.0 EFTSL = 36 Units.

Course description

The program consists of core studies in Forensic Computing (Electronic Evidence), Network and Device Forensics, ISO 17025 Forensic Laboratory Accreditation, Information Assurance and Security, Secure Software Development, Critical Infrastructure and Process Control (SCADA) system security, plus 2 final thesis courses (plus Research Methods). A total of 54 units of study must be completed for the degree.

INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS ONLY

Applications to this program are via UniSA's Apply Online portal.

Applicants are required to have a completed undergraduate degree from a recognised University in science, engineering or technology with an average of at least credit (65%); OR a completed Graduate Diploma in Science (Information Assurance), with an average of at least credit (65%) or equivalent.

For international applicants for whom English is a second language, the minimum English language requirements are:

- International English Language Testing System (IELTS Academic): Minimum score of 6.0 in Reading and Writing subscores and minimum overall score of 6.5 obtained within the last two years or corresponding results from an equivalent test such as TOEFL or the appropriate Academic English language level delivered at CELUSA; or

- Successful completion of a tertiary qualification at diploma level or above completed in Australia within the last two years; or

- Successful completion of at least two years of tertiary study at diploma level or above conducted and completed in English within the last five years in a country in which English is commonly used, as determined by the University. Where the study in English was more than five years ago, this requirement may be satisfied by subsequent and recent work experience of at least two years duration in a setting where English is the language of business subject to satisfactory evidence as determined by the University.
