Computer Forensic Analyst: Sonnenschein Nath & Rosenthal, LLP


Founded in 1906, Sonnenschein Nath & Rosenthal LLP is a leader in innovative legal services, serving its clients through integrated, inter-office cooperation and teamwork among practice groups to provide efficient, effective and timely legal services and business counseling. We currently seek a Computer Crime Analyst to join us in our Washington DC office to work with our Information Security and Internet Enforcement Group (ISIE).

The ISIE group handles the full range of legal issues resulting from the increased use of computer networks and the Internet. In addition to advising clients on best practices for protecting electronic information against hackers, disgruntled employees and corporate espionage agents, this unique group also supervises and conducts internet investigations, designs anti-piracy and anti-spam programs for corporations and ISPs, and provides legal counsel for corporations addressing computer security incidents in order to minimize corporate liability

Primary Responsibilities

- Perform computer forensic services, including digital evidence acquisition, preservation, analysis, data recovery, tape recovery, electronic mail extraction, and database examination

- Provide technology services to enhance forensic engagements

- Research and implement current computer forensic technology and methodologies

- Conduct online investigations, including piercing the anonymity of internet actors through the use of various research tools and online applications

Job Qualifications Required

- Two to five years of experience in computer forensics and technical investigations

- Possess EnCE certification (or equivalent)

- Excellent written and verbal communication

- Proficiency with PC hardware and networking

- Proficiency with UNIX/Linux and Windows operating systems

- Proficiency with FAT32, NTFS, and EXT2/3 file systems

- Proficiency with MS Exchange and Lotus Notes

- Proficiency with computer forensic methodologies and protocols

- Must be a team player with a positive attitude and strong problem solving skills

Additional Preferences Desired

- Experience teaching any subject matter

- Experience with public speaking

- Experience working in a non-computer related field

- CISSP certification
