What do you all feel about this certification. Would you do the FTK bootcamp back to back with Computer Forensics just to qualify to take the test? I am curiouse as I want to put on this training in Aug.05(already working w/AccessData to push it through)to see how many professionals would be interested in this alternative/addition for some to EnCE.

Sorry I guess I had better explain I am a Training Coordinator for a Cyber Forensics Lab and have been approached about this. I hope there is an interest as I Feel FTK is a worth while tool and AccessData is a reputible company.

Thanks for any and all input

I currently use EnCase Forensic Edition in my work but am considering purchasing the UTK as an additional tool. I would therefore consider obtaining the ACE qualification – you can also apparently use AccessData classroom training (as long as you have the required work experience) as a prerequisite for the EnCE qualification. As an added bonus, AccessData seem to offer quite a good package when buying the UTK together with a course.

My only problem with this is that AccessData are not (presently) offering either the Bootcamp or the Windows Forensic course in the second part of this year in the UK/Ireland.

I emailed AccessData to see if any additional course dates will be added but did not receive a reply. I also emailed the AccessData UK regional manager with the same query, but again no reply (maybe they are all on holiday!!). This non-communication worries me slightly in terms of AccessData’s customer commitment – this is in contrast to EnCase who have always been very efficient in answering queries.

I would be very interested in hearing feedback from anyone who has attended any of AccessData’s courses. It would also be interesting, if anyone has attended both EnCase and AccessData’s courses, to hear how they compare.

Just an update to my last post.

I have since heard from AccessData. They state that more UK/Ireland courses will be added in the second half of this year. Good news for anyone who is considering the ACE qualification in these countries.

I use FTK alot especially for Fraud cases and would be interested in taking the ACE exam. I took the Intermediate Course but didnt feel the need to do the Advanced.

The qualification could be an interesting test of my abilities with the software.

Let me know if you get to put it on as I may put my name down.

Cheers

Nick
