Hi All,
Bit of a broad question I have to ask but is there anyone on the forum who is actively working in the discipline either privately or within LE that can provided some feedback as to digital forensics from a Canadian perspective.
What is the landscape like in terms of investigations, does LE typically contract out. Is digital evidence as common in court cases here as in the US. What types of private matters are common?
Justice Canada’s website provides some useful information as do some provincial ones in regarding electronic evidence & discovery but I am looking for an “insiders†perspective.
Thanks in advance,

hi there andy,

Hey guys, this is a public forum, are we not supposed to share?
Don't know much about Canada other than they do investigations in Igloos.(sp?) lol
Andy or flytnx, I am also in Canada and would love more info on Andy's topic. It would be great if you can share either on the board or in a private message if that somehow works better.
Thanks
Hey Guys,
I never did get a reply to the PM and haven’t had much time lately to any more digging on my end as I’ve had a busy schedule lately …
The Justice Canada site has some good information on digital evidence and discovery. I live in Quebec so I was also interested in getting some provincial material also but in terms of the landscape as it pertains to workload and civil/criminal cases that have digital evidence….still a bit in the dark.
I have a friend that just graduated from McGill Law and is working in legal aid so maybe I’ll pick her brains or spend a couple of my free days over at the courthouse (instead of home depot)
I will let you know if I find anything interesting.

Andy,
I have a few Canadian links you may be interested in, I would like to see what you have also, I have some legal contacts in Ontario I plan on speaking to, in fact I am meeting one for Lunch on Wednesday and plan to see their input on this subject.
Here are a few Canadian links.
