Junior Forensics role

Post Posted: Jul 04, 06 00:51

Hi there,

Does anyone have any advice for me...?
I am looking to move into my first forensics role, but am finding it difficult finding Junior positions that do not require experience. Most of the jobs i have come across need 12-18months Encase experience at the least.
I am currently working in a 2nd Line Support role, having spent a year on a Servicedesk, another year project managing desktop/laptop roll-outs, and currently 2nd Line Remote Support, giving me what i think would be enough technical and project experience to be a good base for forensics. We do occasional investigations, but do not have the budget to justify me taking the courses or exams, so they are all quite limited.
If anyone can advise where i start (given that i have a limited budget) or know whether such opportunities are likely to come up (i am in the South, so London is definitely an option).

Thanks a lot

Have you written directly to cf companies? There are plenty in and around London.

Get your CV checked, get in touch with David Sullivan (if you haven't already) and keep trying. Demand is high at the moment so something should come up soon enough. Good luck.

He's the main recruitment consultant here for forensic computing.

Dizzydream; you could do yourself a favour by putting your email address/ name on your profile. That way potential employers could contact you.
