I was forwarded this article by a colleague and wanted to pass it along.

Has anyone seen or used these before?

Is there a way to view them without going to the Adobe site? In what directory in XP are they stored?

Nevermind. I found it C\Documents and Settings\<user>\Application Data\Macromedia\Flash Player\#SharedObjects\

Check out information on Local Shared Objects (LSO's) at

Local Shared Object -- SuperCookies

and

Adobe Flash Player -- LSO's

Also, for Firefox users, I recommend the following

"Better Privacy" for FireFox to help eradicate these so-called "SuperCookies"…found at

Better Privacy for Firefox

After a month of Better Privacy use, 423 LSO's have been removed from my system, despite the use of NoScript, Firefox's "Private Browser" feature, and adjusting the setting to "None" with the external Adobe applet mentioned in an earlier post.

Passive presumption of privacy equals no privacy. Pro-active privacy prevents peril. wink

(Anyone have a spare "p" they can lend me? I'm fresh out…)

Thanks for this information very helpful. First I have heard about LSO's.
