After seeing CacheBack mentioned here in the forums, I checked it out and saw that they offered training and that it was a Canadian product! I haven't used a browser history specific package like this before as I previously did this type of recovery with either Encase or FTK.

It looks pretty nice (as well as reasonably priced) so I decided to take the plunge and have signed up for the course in Peterborough Ontario in June (not too expensive to get to from my home here in The Great White North). They also have something coming up in West Virginia later this summer.

I'll post my impressions of the course when I get back early in June.

I took the CacheBack training last week and was impressed by the topics covered. The course starts off by going over the usual install procedures and then switches to detailed explanations of the various browser artifacts and exercises on reading the information using a hex-editor. It was especially interesting to see the Firefox artifacts and how they are somewhat bizarre (there are logical operations and shifting of bits in the artifacts that is done when manually examining them). I particularly like this approach as it explains what the software is doing. The material then shifts to using the application and reporting functions. All and all a pretty comprehensive and information packed three days.

Thanks Beetle. I've been using cacheback for a while now and I really like the reporting and integration with enscripts.
