Good Afternoon all,
I have a scenario where my available forensic equipment does not support the HTC HD7 handset. Due to the sheer amount of data held on the device it could take around a month for me to perform a manual examination.
I therefore wondered if anyone has had any success in Jtagging this handset?
I am thinking of investing a Riff box and purchasing this adapter for it http//
Is there any alternate methods or software you would recommend?
Thanks in advance

MS Windows Phone 7
As far as I was aware, even if you JTAG it the database files are protected somehow, either a proprietory format of encrypted. I do not know of a way around this. I have even spoken to the team who 'jailbroke' the windows device and they could not help. unless you unlock the device with a developers token and install a custom agent you cannot download the phone content in a readable format.
If you do find a way around this for WP7 or WP8 there would be a lot of people in the community interested in this
JTAGing will only get you to the NAND flash memory which will get you some of the user data but the bulk of it will be stored on an lock encrypted Micro SD card that the phone uses for secondary storage, probably the multimedia files.
I have tried a number of things to get access to the Micro SD data with no luck so far.
The RIFF box will get you a data dump from the first NAND flash memory.
