I have an Huawei M865 Muve cell phone that I need the SMS data extracted. Can anyone suggest a company that does chip off and provide a guess as to the cost?

Why do you think you need "chip-off" - instead of some other method?

Is it because the tools don't support the device? or it is broken? or is it locked?

Chipoff should be the last resort, there are other methods that can get you a physical dump of an unsupported phone like JTAG, or Flasher Box.

In the end, if chipoff is required, then these services are offered by Teel Technologies both in Canada and the USA.

Let us know the circumstances of the phone and one can point you in the right direction.

If jtag not supported just send a note to Octopus or Riff Team to support it
or
Root Huawei, get mmssms.db database and decode data.
That's it.

The cell phone has exceeded the number of pin code attempts. To unlock the phone it is requesting the gmail address and password. The client has provided the gmail address, but they can not remember the correct password.

I have attempted to extract the data with a Cellebrite UFED and AccesData MPE+ but the USB debugging is not turned on. As I stated in my original post the cell phone is a Huawei M865 Muve. I have never extracted the data using JTAG. Is there a company that has the expertise to preform the extraction of the SMSMMS.db.

I will look into rooting the phone in the mean time.

May I suggest you approach a company qualified to do the process?

Reading your notes, you may inadvertently taint the evidence - unless of course this is an exercise to expand your knowledge.

Kesler, TeelTech, Data Recovery, H-11, Binary Intelligence, etc.

The client has provided the gmail address, but they can not remember the correct password.

As a side note, normally gmail has a secundary e-mail address to send the forgotten password, hasn't it?
I do understand how the "recovery phone number" is the locked phone (nice CATCH22 wink ) but the alternate e-mail should be there, at least this is what I have as option when asking for help in logging in on my gmail account

  • Enter your recovery email address
  • Enter your recovery phone number

First you can try with JRP box(with Jtag technology),and get the flash dump. The definition of test point shown above。
But the ROM is 512MB,the file system maybe Yaffs2.
It difficult to analyze the ROM image.
