I am in a relatively small forensics lab. We currently use a Fernico FarX Blu Ray to archive our cases, but it seems the Fernico may be having some issues and may not serve us much longer (we've had it for a number of years). This is for cases which have worked their way through the justice system and have been resolved. At that point (apart from appeals) we shouldn't have any more work to do with that case, but it is accessible in the event we would have to. We are constantly trying to keep free room on our NAS for more cases. We have to back up cases between 500GB upwards to multiple TB. The Fernico worked well, but I am trying to see if there are any other ideas for archiving cases. The Blu Ray burning has worked great, but wanted to see if anyone had any experience with these products, or had any other suggestions on this.

The "new kid on the block" is seemingly Sony's ODA

but whether they are as reliable as the good Sony guys claim and/or it will become a "standard" (and thus cartridges become more affordable) than this 😯

is hard to say right now.

After all Betamax was technically far better than VHS and we all know how it worked out wink .

This seems to me a "good sign"

Those are definitely pricey. The nice thing about the Blu Ray is they are relatively cheap. Add to that, we really only need to keep the cases for 10-20 years, we don't have a need for a super long archive. The Far is nice because the robotic arm will move the disks from bin to recorder to printer, than to the bin. Super easy, set & forget. I'm looking for something like that.

I see. )
I would say that there are several products similar to yours, but oriented to "small number production" of CD/DVD/BD, you are looking for something *like*

Right?

Those are exactly what I'm looking for. Thanks. Now I just wonder if there's anyone with experience with any of these.
