Most interesing areas in the US for Forensics
Hello,
I am currently thinking about working 2 or 3 years outside Germany and would like to work in the US as a IT Forensics Analyst/ IT Security Specialist. There are a lot of jobs for experienced and certified Experts (like GCFA and/or CISSP like me). But the US are huge and i have alredy read on several websites about very different salary situations depending on the region you are working and living. If you could choose any region in the US to apply for a interesting, high-end job in DFIR/ Forensics and a appropriate income in a secure, attractive and family-friendly area- which region would you prefer based on your experience?
best regards,
Robin

Depending on state, and how you work, or work for, you may need a Private Investigators licence. Be aware of this.
Personally, I have grown to like Atlanta, and also Boston. It is an impossible question to answer, 20 different people will give you 20 different answers. Choose somewhere that the climate suits you.

Ok, climate is a good topic. Thanks for that. Is there a cluster of IT Forensic Service Providers in some areas or are they distributed across the country and in nearly all major cities and business areas?

As a side note (and not to put you anyway down ) I have read lately that there is a lot of turmoil around working permits for non US citizens
, and even for high-end placements firms are holding back from sponsoring Visas/Permits/whatever, typically H1-B's or maybe EB-2/Eb-3's. (I am excluding - no offence whatever intended
- the possibility that you can obtain a EB-1)

Don't come to NYC, it's always either too hot or too cold.
