Operations Manager (Forensic Services)(Based in Stafford or Nuneaton Laboratories)

Package: (£60k includes Base Salary, Overtime, Bonus + Benefits)

Purpose:
The Operations Manager, a key, senior management level role within IntaForensics, the fastest growing leader in the UK digital forensics industry. The role is directly responsible for the cost effective, technically excellent delivery of digital forensic and IT security services to the company’s diverse client base.

This is a new role, and will evolve, depending upon the skills of the individual who fills the post. The potential growth for the company and the individual are significant, based on the market opportunities and strategic direction of the company.

Working with a direct report team comprised of Forensic Services Managers (who each manage one of the company’s five laboratories) and the Quality Manager, the Operations Manager will ensure delivery of services under contract to existing clients.

The Operations Manager will have direct input to the development of company strategy, and then shape and deliver company strategy through the operation of the laboratories and technical services.

About IntaForensics
IntaForensics operate in the field of digital forensics and IT Security providing services to a diverse range of clients. The company is one of the largest UK providers of these services, and is significantly the largest single provider of digital forensic services to the law enforcement community. Established in 2006, the company has grown consistently, recording growth of over 40% each year for the last 3 years.

Currently in the region of 75% of revenues come from the law enforcement sector with clients ranging from large regional Police services through to national units. Forensic analysis services are provided for the examination of all manner of digital evidence – servers, databases, computers, mobile devices and other sources of data. The remaining revenue streams come from a mixture of commercial, financial, legal and regulatory clients.

The large scale of the operation, diversity of clients and volume of cases and packages of work present an on-going challenge for effective operational management. In addition, the pace of innovation and change in the technical solutions to forensic challenges, and requirements of the criminal justice system provide on-going opportunities to improve the processes and output of the company.

Aim for Recruitment
IntaForensics have designed this new role to bring in a senior Manager who will “get stuck in” and assist in the next phase of our growth journey. The company has two new lines of business which will be added to our service inventory over the course of 2015/16 which offer the potential to grow our business exponentially.

We are looking for a motivated, agile and dedicated Operations professional with the technical insight and capacity to drive service delivery to the highest standards.

The applicant must be either a current SC Cleared professional or have the ability to meet the requirements for security clearance to NPPV-3 and SC Enhanced levels given the nature of our clients and the work we undertake.

Responsibilities
The responsibilities of the Operations Manager are to:
• Develop and maintain relationships with business stakeholders
• Own end-to-end services, ensuring they are delivered to meet current and future customer needs (capacity, capability, infrastructure)
• Work with customers and internal stakeholders to set and manage realistic expectation of services
• Manage client communication channels to ensure timely dissemination of service information in both directions
• Liaise with Commercial team to ensure that service issues and concerns are reflected in the relevant discussions with the business stakeholders
• Work with the Quality Manager to ensure delivery of client services in line with the regulatory requirements of the industry and quality standards (ISO 9001, ISO 27001, ISO 17025, ACPO Guidelines, Forensic Science Regulator’s Code of Practice)
• Identify potential service improvement opportunities and work proactively with Forensic Services Managers, technical staff, Logistics, Finance and Commercial teams to action them
• Help shape the strategy and development of the company in existing forensic and advisory business and new lines of business.

Requirements

Person Specification

• Must be diplomatic and persuasive with an ability to handle difficult conversations and confidently liaise with stakeholders at all levels

Essential Skills/Competencies:
• Demonstrable experience of working with either IT service delivery or forensic technology teams and customers
• Experience of managing end user, their requirements and expectations in relation to services
• Strong understanding of IT or Forensic technology service, service levels and service level management processes
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
• Relationship management skills with different levels of stakeholders
• Performance management, reporting metrics and tools
• Ability to understand the “big picture” and be a Critical thinker
• A good organiser with the ability to influence and drive prioritisation
• Ability to assimilate a large amount of data and remember people
• Proactive and creative approach to problem solving - ability to 'think outside the box'
• Must be numerate and well organised
• A diligent and conscientious approach to carrying out work is essential
• Strong written and oral communication skills, with an ability to draft own correspondence and strong presentation skills
• A natural collaborator and strong communicator

Desirable Skills/Competencies:
• Experience of digital forensic technologies and services
• Strong academic credentials in a relevant field
• Law enforcement experience directly or providing service to law enforcement clients
