Hi
First, let me introduce myself. I'm 26, and have been working with computers my whole life, both Mac and Windows machines, Vmwares as well.
I want to get into digital forensics as a job, but not sure how to go about it, or even if it's something I can do.
I've contacted a few well known people in the field, I'm just waiting on replies.
I am totally blind, and I use a screenreader called JAWS for the Windows side, and the built in screenreader on Mac called Voiceover.
I realize that digital forensics deals with pictures, and video, but a lot of it is data as well. I have a degree in radio broadcasting, but I've realized that's not a good career, as radio is dying out anyway.
So, what avenues do you recommend I pursue? Is this even an option for someone who is blind? Obviously, I realize that blind people can pretty much have any job we want, provided the right accommodations, and the right people who believe that it can be done.
Thanks for any help, and if you have any questions, don't be afraid to ask!

I'm certainly interested to see how things have changed/progressed since those earlier discussions.

I encourage you highly to continue on DF, your ability on stamina and persistance is brilliant and these are skills needed for DF. How do you self-evaluate your imagination e.g. for Criminal Composability Imagination (crime always finds new very innovative ways)?

Thank you! I’d like to imagine myself as being able to come up with a lot of solutions, and my stamina would fair just fine, being i’m at the computer all day anyway! -)
