Hy community of experts,
I looking for a solution to brute-force Android Pattern or PIN, and all the precaution with respect to Android version and their security.
I tried Susteen Svstrike and i got a good result, with Android 4.4.4 and pattern lock screen.
What do you think about these tools and what are the best tools (software or hardware) in order to use brute-force (of course brute-force is only used when i don't any other solution) ? roll
lol
Brute-force tools are mostly obsolete, nowdays useless because of the implemented hardware and software protections.
interesting topic let follow
There isn't much tó follow about this topic, bruteforce for opening user locks is a dead technology.
I see a single scenario where it could still be used for opening devices with Secure Startup.
I have to agree the brute forcing option is basically dead. But to the topic at hand I enjoyed using the HDBox.

have you that box ? I'm still doubting about that tool.
do you advice it for someone ?
I do recommend it, but there are caveats. For iPhone probably no point in purchasing it. For Android, if the version is one without lockout, it is awesome. Read the instructions (it comes with a PDF) to properly set it up and you're good to go. I had a device with a pattern lock that I used with it and it worked very well. Ultimately the lockout timer rose to the point that it wasn't useful, but nice to not need to remember every pattern you've entered.
@the_Grinch can you please post statistics with devices you get in forensics for opening user locks with different Android versions and specifications for "without lockout" ?! Unfortunately our statistics show that less then 3% of the devices we get would meet this criteria.
These tools were good years ago, they are obsolete by now, nobody should buy them unless of hobby purposes!
I think we are agree on thinking that it's not the best solution today. But, to cover any case, even these 3% than can't be solved by modern tools and technologies, we must keep in mind that older tools has a continuing role to play.
Otherwise, how to suuceed to cover all case possible ?
In my case, i tried all tools that i had (UFED, XRY, Oxygen), none of them has been able to dump the phone i had.
