Im just wondering what everyones expereince so far has been like using the new Cellebrite update for Checkm8?

Has anyone had either postivie or negative results?

Anyone compared the data extracted between Checkm8 and Greykey full file system extractions?

Any errors?

Thanks.

Hello!

I've had the opportunity to use Cellebrite's implementation of the Checkm8 exploit in their UFED 4PC program. Out of three iPhones, I had success with one device. As for the other two, despite being in DFU mode, one wouldn't work at all with UFED4PC; the other started to work, then froze about 1/3 through.

However, the full file system extraction is very impressive!

Though our agency has access to GreyKey, I wasn't able to compare above.

Tested on 5 different Iphones. None had unlock pin code and all supported as per Cellebrite release. None of them worked with Checkm8.

Tested 3 of them on Checkrain and they all worked. Can only think Cellebrite rushed this release

Was this on 7.28, or 7.28.2, that they released shortly after (just wondering if this was a fix for your problem)?

There is an issue with data communication slowing down and dropping to zero at some point, so the extraction stalls.

It's in the logs, feel free contact the vendor )

Currently running a Cellebrite checkm8 extraction on an iPhone 7 (about a quarter of the way through). Will let you know if it succeeds or not.

It was 7.28. I will get around to testing again, but have just been using Checkrain.

My issue was not that it is crashing "during" acquisition but it would not start the acquisition.
