I imagine this is commonly found irrespective of the type of case. How do you guys 'process' it? do you have to examine each pic/clip (in case it's actually illegal content) or is it more a case of a cursory glance? or do you have software that does the job for you? thanks

What type of case is it?

If it's a CP case, then get directions from the attorney but someone needs to distinguish between adult porn and child abuse images and that probably means looking at every image, especially when there is a question as to whether the amount puts the case above or below a sentencing threshold.

If it's a different kind of case, e.g. a workplace misbehavior, then you don't need to analyze each image to make an adult/child distinction. Of course, if you *do* see a child abuse image, the situation has changed and you probably need to report it.

I use Griffeye Analyze DI Pro version to go through and categorize images and videos. Of course, I do it in a law enforcement role and normally don't care about adult porn.

Hash set will pull out potential CP.

There really is no reason to look through it unless the SOP at work is that there is to be no porn and then you see some, document, report, move to next case.

If person says wasn't me, then did into how it got put there or how it got past company filters, etc.

We in UK LEA have hashsets of illegal and ignorable content which in most cases reduces the amount of images/videos we have to view and categorise. Sometimes the file names and paths of the images/videos can help determine if they are likely to be adult porn or child abuse material.

I wouldn't bother with the adult porn unless the suspect(s) had adult porn of actors who were adults but appeared to look underage. In this case it can show interest in underage children. All of this depends on the case you're dealing with however.
