In a recent meeting, a client wondered aloud about the impact that MRAM and flash memory in possibly displacing magnetic hard drive (way in the future, I know) might have on computer forensics. My first reaction is that forensics would become a lot easier (no need for LiveForensics when dealing with MRAM), but as I thought about it some more, it occurred to me that I don't know all that much about flash memory at all. Any thoughts?

Don't know much other than it's non-volatile and it suffers no degradation over time in comparison to flash memory. New technology, new thing to learn or get accustomed to. I don't think it will have a profound impact on forensics. That is, if it can ever penetrate the market since flash is so widespread.
