Hello,
I was asked by a law firm this week if it was possible to link a video taken by an iPhone back to the original device. Although this does not appear definitively possible, the research on the metadata held in an iPhone video file is fascinating, especially as our normal tools (FTK) etc do not extract it. As the metadata even survives being emailed from the iPhone to other devices this could be very useful even in a computer based investigation. Hence why I've posted this here.

The idea is that cameras, both lense and sensor have unique enough distortion to identify videos, or pictures taken by them to link them back to the original device.
