Invitation to Expert Panel Online Interviews‏

Post Posted: Wed Jan 08, 2014 12:20 am

My name is Diane Barrett and I am a doctoral learner at Northcentral University in Prescott Valley, Arizona (see: www.ncu.edu ). As part of my doctoral study, I will be conducting research in an effort to identify when current digital investigative processes apply to cloud computing environments.
The purpose of this research study is to develop a framework for determining when current forensics practices are applicable to cloud computing investigations, identify when process modification is acceptable, and determine when new processes are required. The research strategy will focus on the application of current digital investigative methods of digital forensics to cloud computing environments.

The data collection will happen over the span of four weeks. All selected participants will be asked to participate in three online written narrative interview rounds of questions. Each online interview consists of 10 open-ended questions and will be conducted using SurveyMonkey. Each round of online interview questions will take no more than 30 minutes to complete. All digital forensic investigators with at least five years of relevant field experience are eligible to participate in this study. Participation in the study is strictly voluntary.

I hope you be willing to spend about an hour of your time to help with my research. I believe your experiences and perceptions will provide valuable insight to the study. As a member of the security and digital forensic community, I am familiar with the challenges associated with communication and information sharing. All interview question replies will be strictly confidential. Study information will not contain any personal identifiers and be available only in aggregate or general formats.

Should you agree to take part in this study, please respond via e-mail to barrett.study @ gmail.com no later than January 12, 2014 and I will send the Statement of Qualifications form. The study will begin shortly afterward. I expect completion by February 28, 2014.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns you may have about the study or your role as a panel member. I can be reached via this email address: barrett.study @ gmail.com. Thank you for your consideration and I hope to welcome you to our panel of experts.
