Hi guys. I was looking for your advice. I have always loved working with computers and software and i am wanting to study computer security and forensics at uni next year but, due to my history was wondering if it would be worth it or should i choose another subject at uni. I have a criminal record for fighting (ABH last year) and was wondering would this bar me from most if not all jobs?

Is there a lot of employment opportunities in this sector?

I could do programming and see plenty of jobs in this area but i don't enjoy it as much and think i should do something i would really enjoy rather than do something just for the money.

Thanks in advance guys.

Of course you cannot have a definite answer, however usually the kind of criminal record that may prevent you from being hired is usually connected with "moral turpitude"

You also cannot get a definite answer for this question, which however should be worded as
Will there be a lot of employment opportunities in this sector in two/three years time (when I will have finished the courses)?

Consider how the "digital forensic" courses have become popular in the last few years, and though most probably the request has grown, so has the number of qualified candidates exiting the UNI having followed a related course of study. ?
