Remote Cell Phone Collection Solutions???

Post Posted: Apr 28, 17 02:32

I was wondering if there are any enterprise (or even forensic) applications that can remotely collect iPhone/Android data while the user is still in possession of the device.

I am well aware and experienced in data extraction software like Cellebrite, XRY, Lantern, and Blacklight back from my forensic days.

My enterprise is looking for a remote acquisition solution to collect user data from issued phones.

bntrotter,

1) iDevices

For collection of iPhone iCloud mobile backups, I use Elcomsoft's Phone Breaker Forensic Edition tool (https://www.elcomsoft.com/eppb.html).

The target iPhone has to be pre-configured to be uploading mobile backups to Apple's iCloud service (backups can be turned off by the phone user), but I love this tool as our busy clients who do not want to give up their physical iPhone can simply provide me their AppleID and password and then I use Phone Breaker to make a collection directly from Apple's iCloud services.

2) Android OS Devices

For collection of Android OS devices directly from the cloud, look at Elcomsoft's Cloud eXplorer (https://www.elcomsoft.com/ecx.html).

I do NOT own Cloud eXplorer so you will have to test this tool.

So, as long as the devices you are looking to collect remotely are configured upfront to backup to the cloud, and your organization has control of login IDs and passwords, you could simply use the Elcomsoft tools to perform "remote" collections, without any disruption to your employees.
