Basically you're asking: do you like Pepsi, CocaCola or Dr Pepper?

I've used Caine (because of all the talk of mounting scripts i read about), i've tested Autopsy, but i ended up with Deft later on for convenience.

Products come and go, some are maintained and some vanish. These tools are close to eachother in functioning and transitioning from one to the other should go somewhat fast, two of them are Linux distros and one is a Windows binary. Pick one, if it's not satisfactory chose another. Learning new things comes with the job.

Keep an eye out for new distros here.

Thank you, MDCR!

I need to pick one for testing and research project, so I wasn't sure if one was more preferable versus the other.

And thank you for the distro list!
