Running some test with my personal iPad and finding in the windows 10 registry, and this is what i am finding.

If i look in the iPodDevices.xml it list the ipad as connected and list out like the following

Code:
<key>Devices</key>
<dict>
<key>000A270020F72C6F</key>
<dict>
<key>Connected</key>
<date>2011-05-20T23:33:56Z</date>
<key>Device Class</key>
<string>iPod</string>
<key>Family ID</key>
<integer>17</integer>
<key>Firmware Version</key>
<integer>326</integer>
<key>Firmware Version String</key>
<string>1.1</string>
<key>ID</key>
<string>000A270020F72C6F</string>
<key>Serial Number</key>
<string>DCYDPWM3DCMP</string>
<key>Software Version</key>
<integer>35749888</integer>
<key>Updater Family ID</key>
<integer>36</integer>
<key>Use Count</key>
<integer>10</integer>

Now why is it I am finding the ID String 000A270020F72C6F in the registry and setapi.dev.log and not the Serial Number?
