Digital Forensics Analyst/Collections

Our client has an urgent requirement in their Digital forensics team. Initially a 6m FTC (fixed term contract) but may be offered at the end as a perm role (temp to perm). They are looking in the £40-50K pro-rata range.

• Preservation and extraction of digital evidence from computers, file and email servers, mobile devices and media.
• Provide Chain of Custody documentation and forensic case procedures in written reports.
• Maintain client relationships.
• Onsite data captures.
• Data recovery.
• Advanced forensic analysis.
• Documentation and report writing as needed.

Ideal Requirements
• Bachelors or Master’s Degree in Computer Science or related field
• Experience with commercial computer forensic tools (EnCase, FTK etc.)
• Professional demeanor and strong communication skills, both written and oral
• Must be a team player and have a strong work ethic, integrity, and attention to detail
• Understanding of various file formats, operating systems and internet protocols
• Strong working knowledge of mobile, laptop, desktop, and server computer hardware
• Advanced understanding of Chain of Custody procedures, forensic lab best practices, and evidence handling
• Understanding of eDiscovery software and enterprise systems (including Email, File Server and Database)
• Have valid passport and willing to travel on short notice if required (not expected in this role)
• Certifications in Forensic and Cyber tols e.g. CCE, EnCE, CISSP, GCIH
• Vendor certification with commercial computer forensic tools (EnCase, FTK etc.)
• Experience/training with Mobile/Cellular forensic tools (Cellebrite, XRY, Oxygen, etc.)
• Ability to independently conduct comprehensive analysis of computer equipment and data storage devices
• Knowledge of computer science and laws related to computer evidence recovery as well as procedures for the collection, preservation and presentation of computer evidence
• Skilled in the application of computer science to recover data which has been deleted/erased, fragmented, hidden, or encrypted from data storage devices
• Hands on collection experience relating but not limited the following: Laptops / Desktops / File Servers / Hand held devices
• Strong understanding of the legal issues faced by forensic investigators and eDiscovery support practitioners, including data privacy.
