Any suggestions for a reliable EMLX to PDF converter that includes attachments? The EMLX files are in a folder as recovered from X-Ways Forensics.

Bates numbering would be nice but not required.

You can do accomplish this via Thunderbird and Mac Native Mail app……

Mac Mail route

Thunderbird route

Aid4Mail is also a great tool for things like this. It also can download from cloud e-mail accounts and convert MBOX dumps from GMail.

When attachments are involved, I always find myself using full-fledged eDiscovery processing software—along the lines of Law PreDiscovery, IPRO eCapture, etc.

In order to perform a reliable conversion (including email attachments), the conversion tool would have to support numerous attachment file types (e.g., presentations, spreadsheets, technical drawings, etc.), extract containers and embedded objects recursively, keep track of conversion exceptions and allow you to mitigate them, and ideally provide some options regarding how the files should be converted to static format (e.g., what happens if the attachment has hidden content, tracked changes, speaker notes, etc.).

These may not be an issue for a handful of files where you have a good grasp of what the attachment contents are. But, as the scope grows, I believe you would find that most email converter type programs would be insufficient.

I would second AID4MAIL. Excellent tool. Has many options as well such as embedding the email source file into the PDF. Useful in the event one side questions the validity of the conversion.
