Who did investigate any case with Autoliv self-driving sensor systems on a XC90? I want to learn.
Given how new this tech is I would be really surprised if anybody has done this but will watch this thread with interest. Do you have an actual job needing this? I can point you to some good experienced vehicle/telematics investigators if this is a live job. Or is it just academic?
For us its also a new job and I thought in the U.S. may somebody already did car forensics on a system like this.
I apologize but its really only about this Autolif system we are interested to learn as cars in the EU are not the same (even having the same model names) as in the U.S.
We are also interested in how to aggregate car forensics evidence together to get 'the full picture' as all sensors work in collaboration and the Central Car Unit CCU operates and aggregates all data into a mapping process and after policiy making (driving policy). Here in the EU we do not have systems with real-time HD maps. The Audi A7 is kind of a EU flagship similar to BMW as the most connected cars on the continent.
Thanks anyway.
Most sensors do not store any type of data. Depending on the sensor, it takes a reading (analog or digital) and sends it across the CAN bus for various ECU's to interpret and adjust as needed. This is all done in real-time, no data is stored unless someone has installed a aftermarket datalogger perhaps?
The Autoliv system is mounted on the roof and responsible for autonomous driving (this was the car and system in use at the famous Uber crash weeks ago).
The cams work for sensing and transmit the data locally to the CDAC Central Driving Assistance Controller. There all cam video-realtime and other sensors are mapped to data fed-in from Data-CarCloud-rest or stored as Data-in-car-rest for present and future AI-policy-making.
Understood, obviously a different set of sensors than I referred too. I believe the information your seeking may be hard to obtain without some reverse engineering since the technology is so new.
Most sensors are cams and on the top a LiDAR from teledyne. So this is mostly video analytics inside the central unit to map to CarCloud intelligence.

Does anybody live in the area where these cars are running daily?
