Mobile Phone Specialist London £34k-£38k+£13k allowance

HM Revenue and Customs Digital Forensics Group are looking to recruit enthusiastic digital forensic examiners to work within the Mobile Devices Team in London. This is an exciting and ever expanding area. The salary ranges from £34k-£38k plus £13k allowance and comes with an excellent develop and training package.

Who/what are we looking for?

Experience of conducting digital forensic examinations and producing evidence in a criminal justice environment within the last 3 years is essential.

a) Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team of Digital Forensic examiners;
b) Possess good communication skills (both verbal and written);
c) Be enthusiastic, hardworking and flexible;
d) Possess an ability to examine digital devices in a methodical and precise way and have an aptitude for problem solving;
e) Have extensive knowledge of mobile operating systems and have a solid understanding of mobile devices;
f) Ability to dismantle and/or safely handle mobile devices for examination purposes, whilst maintaining accurate contemporaneous records. Identification, removal and safe handling of key mobile device components;
g) Experience and knowledge in performing Digital Forensic examinations; be able to demonstrate case experience within either the law enforcement or civil work environment;
h) Be knowledgeable of the ISO 17025 standard and ACPO Principles of Digital Evidence;
i) Have extensive working knowledge of relevant commercial and open-source software tools applicable to the role;
j) Be able to regularly work with material that may be of an obscene, offensive or distressing nature. Treat such material in the appropriate manner ensuring it is secured and handled according to defined policies.
k) Have attended and passed an accredited training course relevant to Digital Forensic examination of computer and/or mobile device based evidence.
l) Well versed in the use of applications such as Cellebrite and XRY.
