Hey guys, My background is an undergraduate in forensic science and i'm currently studying a masters in Digital forensics and Electronic Security at University of Middlesex. I'm currently learning how to use the tools such as Access Data FTK imager 3.4.2.6, Registry viewer, FTK 6.0.3.5 and Cipher Trace.
I am currently trying to find a dissertation project to work on that will be beneficial for me as I am looking to go into law enforcement after my degree. I do plan on contacting several police staff on what type of projects they would like to be worked on, I have googled to find some ideas but nothing as really caught my eye yet.
Any suggestions regarding a dissertation idea would grateful. I will keep looking through the forum
Thanks

Hallo AA4385 )

There is a topic (sticky) in this very forum
https://www.forensicfocus.com/Forums/viewtopic/t=6829/

leading to here
https://www.forensicfocus.com/project-ideas

JFYI, the plot usually goes like this
1) someone (who is interested in becoming a digital investigator BTW) at first try completely misses it
2) someone of the old members then points the newcomer to it
3) the newcomer then either
a. vanishes with no further message
b. posts something about the list being either too "difficult" or "not exactly what I was looking for"[1] then vanishes with no further message

It would be a refreshing change if you manage to alter the above sketched usual plot in some ways.

[1] which almost invariably comes out as something rather vague and smoky connected to the "cloud and stuff"

Good ) , something I didn't mention in the "usual plot" was the terrible or however sloppy spelling and grammar usually involved in the process (BTW this not being limited to forensics, digital forensics and related papers, it is a general trend)

Well, the best way for me that caught my attention on what to do for the project, I looked in the modules that I've already studied and from there start to think about which ones I like and then thought of what have been given to us to learn and start to thinking about what I can do and can't do and what can be done more.
then started to build up title, aim and objectives etc.

notes notes notes to keep remembering and avoid you overload stress.

I hope this helps you find way to your project.
best luck.
